Mohawk Carpet Collections
One company that has been manufacturing carpet for over one hundred twenty years is Mohawk Industries. This company makes Mohawk carpet as well as several other flooring products for commercial and residential use.
There are three main product lines of Mohawk carpet. the Aladdin collection of carpet is made from nylon, polyester PET, Triexta PIT, or Olefin. Olefin carpet is desireable for high moisture areas.
Carpet made from nylon or Triexta PIT fibers are in the Horizon collection of Mohawk carpet. The Wundaweve carpet collection includes carpet made from nylon fibers.
Nylon carpet is known for its durability and colorfast qualities and is perhaps the most common carpet fibers. Polyester PET is not as durable as nylon carpet, but is similar to nylon in other qualities. Carpet that is incredibly durable with built-in stain resistence is made from Triexta PIT fibers.
The cut pile Mohawk carpet is traditional Saxony or frieze carpet. The cut loop pile carpet contains patterns of cut and looped carpet fibers to create a textured appearance.
Berber carpet and carpet designed for commercial use are loop pile carpet. Different lengths of looped carpet fibers are used to create the texture of Berber carpets.
The Aladdin has cut pile and combination cut loop pile for a textured appearance. The Horizon and Wundaweve collections have cut pile, cut loop pile, and loop pile carpet styles.
Mohawk industries has made a carpet for people who want to use green, earth friendly or recycled, materials. The everStrand Mohawk carpet is made from recycled plastic bottles which are finely chipped, cleaned, and melted before being spun into carpet fiber. One square yard of everStrand carpet is made of approximately thirty recycled plastic bottles.
StainMaster and Scotchgard treatment are examples of carpet features that are available with Mohawk carpet. Stain Master carpets have been treated to repel soil which helps prevent stains. Scotchgard treatments make the carpets resistant to liquid and stains.
Mohawk offers a number of different warranties for their carpet. Mohawk soil resistance warranty, stain resistance warranty, and fade resistance warranty are examples of Mohawk carpet warranties.
Users are allowed to view samples of the different carpet lines on the Mohawk website. Mohawk Industries also makes hardwood flooring, laminate flooring, and ceramic tile.
