Rugs play a very important role in our homes. They can decorate and enhance any room. For bedrooms, these floor decors are usually placed to keep the feet from cold floors. It also helps to enhance the focal of the room, which is of course, the bed. In bedrooms, the rugs should be under at least one-third of the bed and should extend 30 to 36 inches on its sides.
To create a cozy dining area, you may put rugs wherein the table and the chairs could fit in perfectly. As a rule, your rug should be 40 to 48 inches bigger than the size of your dining table. It is important that when you place your rug, your chairs, even when pushed back will fit it.
The type of rug is also an important factor to consider. Rugs are actually made from different materials. There are natural materials such as wool, cotton and grass rugs which usually cost more. Synthetics, like nylon and polypropylene/olefin, on the other hand are a lot cheaper.
Rug Design. Of course, you need to find that suitable color and patterns. Dark colored rugs creates a more intimate area while light colored ones seemingly expand it. You may also choose heavy patterned rugs to hide falling hairs and pet hairs. If you have a traditional themed room, you may use Oriental rugs. For modern rooms, bold geometric patterns would be great. If you want to have that countryside ambiance, choose the braided area rugs.
